Known as the fuse that led to the March First Independence Movement, the February 8th Independence Declaration was announced by Korean students in Tokyo at the Tokyo Korean YMCA (today’s Korean YMCA in Japan). Today, the YMCA has a reference room to commemorate the February 8th Independence Declaration.
